End Your Week With Three Drummers Playing King Crimson, At the Same Damn Time

It’s been a long week. A lot of crazy shit. So dig some footage that cymbal manufacturer Hammerax has posted of Pat Mastellotto, Jim Black, and Tobias Ralph jamming King Crimson’s classic “Indiscipline,” off Discipline, which I think is still one of the heaviest songs ever written. Dig the incredible room sound from Water Music in Hoboken, New Jersey, a studio whose room you’ve heard on drum recordings from Baroness, Dillinger Escape Plan, and Lamb of God records.

Seriously, this performance is raw, and there aren’t too many studios left on the East Coast that record drums that sound this well:

Haven’t heard the original? Damn. Well, check out Fripp, Bruford and co. ripping through it:

  • 11 mins and 11 seconds of a complete and utter mess. Three very talented drummers and a big mess. Should have picked a better KC song.
