AS BLOOD RUNS BLACK – Dan Sugarman Guitar Playthrough “All or Nothing”

As Blood Runs Black is a band that has changed a great deal since its inception in 2001, a list of former members a mile long (including, according to the omniscient Wikipedia, current Alice Cooper guitarist Nita Strauss). In this case, it seems to have been a culling process, and with the current lineup they are sounding better than ever.

Case in point – guitarist Dan Sugarman demonstrates his effortless skill and dynamic mastery in this song “All or Nothing”, from their album Ground Zero. At the young age of 24, he’s demonstrated his instrumental prowess beyond question, and his musical knowledge is evidenced by his series of columns for Guitar World, no small feat.

I think this song was a fine display of Dan’s talents and strengths, bringing a depth to this style of metal that many similar bands lack. It’s also a fine display of this Carvin CT624….

Dan is releasing a solo album titled Centersun this June, which you will be able to pre-order at his Bandcamp page very soon. So if you liked this video, you’re gonna want to get on that.

As Editor-in-Chief of Gear Gods, I've been feeding your sick instrument fetishism and trying unsuccessfully to hide my own since 2013. I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.
