I was already a fan of Chapman Guitars before NAMM. Their design aesthetic appeals to me, and they simply play and sound fantastic. But I’m especially fond of the company since that clusterfuck of a convention because company head and namesake Rob Chapman hosted the most entertaining product demo of my trip. This is a man who knows how to host a video.
In his continuing quest to make me high five my monitor, Rob Chapman has designed some new seven string models, and one of them has a tele-style body with a hard tail bridge and natural wood finish. I don’t know about you guys but that’s my ideal guitar right there. It’s the ML-7-T, but for those of you who prefer a more sleek shape there’s an ML-7-S for you.
I have photos and specs for you below, but why not hear the ML-7 for yourself in Chapman’s demo video? With The Haunted’s Ola Englund even? Or with some other guy who I’m sure is perfectly nice? Well then take a gander below…
- Swamp Ash Body
- 26.5″ Scale Length
- Maple Neck
- Ebony Fingerboard
- Set-Through Neck Construction
- 24 Extra Jumbo Frets
- Hipshot Tremolo
- Hipshot Locking Tuners
- 2 x Chapman Custom Pro 7 Alnico Passive Humbuckers

The guy in the other video is Rabea Massaad. Which is the fellow guitarist of Rob’s band. Dorje.

Really love the headstock of s type, but the t type curved top is so nice.
However, tone difference between swamp ash and mahogany body, I prefer mahogany darker tone.
