The BOSS HM-2W Waza Craft is Now Available

The Boss HM-2 pedal was originally available between 1983 and 1991. The pedal became best known for its chainsaw-type sound, especially in the early Swedish death metal scene from bands like Dismember and Entombed. Now the HM-2 is back as part of the Boss Waza Craft series, and is now known as the HM-2W.

The Boss HM-2W looks just like the classic HM-2 and features a standard mode delivers the original HM-2 tone with a reduced noise floor and expanded maximum level by 3 dB, as well as a custom mode with a bit more gain for extra attack and sharpness alongside fuller low and high-mid characteristics. The Boss HM-2W also offers a premium buffer for clean and clear tone when bypassed

Also, yes – you’ll still get that chainsaw sound when you crank everything up to 10. Which is great, considering the Boss HM-2W was meticulously designed to look exactly like the original HM-2. So it looks like the classic, sounds like the classic, and will inspire you to write only the crunchiest of riffs just like the classic.

The Boss HM-2W is available here for $179.99. If you’re looking for something a little less aggressive today, Boss also just put up pre-orders for their SD-1-4A 40th Anniversary Super Overdrive Pedal for $59.99 and MT-2-3A 30th Anniversary Metal Zone Distortion Pedal $112.99.
