Solar Guitars Gets Real Pointy With Their New S By Solar Model, the XB4.6C

Solar Guitars has expanded its more affordable S by Solar lineup with the XB4.6C, an aggressive X-shaped electric guitar that may actually poke your eye out.

Based on the Solar Guitars’ full-scale Solar Type X design, the XB4.6C keeps the extreme silhouette but pairs it with a practical, stripped-down feature set. The XB4.6C uses a Mahogany body with a 24.75″ scale bolt-on Maple neck carved into Solar’s comfortable C profile. A stained Rosewood fingerboard with a 350mm radius and 22 jumbo frets keeps the feel fast without cutting any corners.

The bolt-on construction is paired with a sculpted neck joint for easier upper-fret access, while the shorter scale length adds a slightly looser string feel that’ll really let you dig into those chugs.

Electronically, the XB4.6C keeps things simple and focused. Two custom high-output ceramic humbuckers are mounted directly into the body for added resonance and attack, controlled via a 3-way toggle and single volume knob. The setup is clearly designed for high-gain tones, delivering tight low end, strong midrange punch, and enough output to push modern amp rigs hard.

Other specs include a TOM-style bridge with string-through-body design, closed black die-cast tuners, Nickel fretwire, Standard E tuning from the factory with .010–.046 strings, and an included gig bag and truss rod tool

Finished in full Carbon Black, including the neck and headstock, the XB4.6C just looks metal… and a little like the Ibanez Xiphos, right? A little?
