Revv is back to show you just how filthy their Dirt Dog Joey Landreth Signature Overdrive Pedal can get with a demo featuring the man himself. If you don’t have time to watch, here’s a spoiler – it sounds dirty as hell. Assuming hell is dirty.
Developed by Revv Amplification in collaboration with Landreth, the Dirtdog traces its origins back to a quirky, vintage-inspired amp Joey built while recording Dog Ear. That amp delivered a unique, touch-sensitive breakup. The challenge was translating that “lightning in a bottle” into something reliable enough for stage use.
The Dirtdog keeps its layout simple but powerful. Gain and Level work together to determine how the pedal hits your amp, altering the response depending on how they’re set.
Run Gain low and Level high for a pushed clean tone, or flip it for more saturated drive. The Bite control shapes the top end, adding sparkle or smoothing things out, while the Tone knob shifts the overall midrange voice.
