The EarthQuaker Devices Bellows revives Jamie Stillman’s cult-favorite fuzz driver in a new, more compact enclosure, pairing its amp-like character with fresh artwork by Geoff Crowe. Finished in an exclusive black-on-teal colorway for Sweetwater in the U.S., the limited-edition release gives players another chance to get their hands on one of EarthQuaker Devices’ most celebrated gain pedals.
The Bellows quickly earned a devoted following among both guitarists and bassists after its original release, with discontinued examples regularly commanding well above their original retail price on the secondhand market. That demand ultimately prompted EarthQuaker Devices to bring the pedal back, retaining the original circuit while updating the enclosure for a smaller footprint. Like every EarthQuaker pedal, the Legacy Reissue Bellows is hand-built in Akron, Ohio using premium components.
Originally designed to capture the sound of a non-master-volume tube amplifier pushed to its absolute limit, the Bellows occupies the sweet spot where overdrive, distortion, and fuzz overlap. Its all-analog circuit combines Silicon and JFET transistor clipping to deliver everything from dynamic, edge-of-breakup crunch to thick, saturated fuzz, while maintaining impressive clarity and preserving the full frequency response of the instrument.
The straightforward two-knob layout keeps the focus on playing rather than tweaking, with the Drive control determining the amount of gain and saturation and the Level control setting the overall output.
