Red And Black: The Solar Guitars T1.61FR Assassin Looks Awesome

Solar Guitars has expanded its Type T lineup with the Solar Guitars T1.61FR Assassin. It’s finished in Carbon Black Matte, has some Red accents throughout, and I want one.

The guitar is built around a Set-Thru construction that joins a 3-piece C-shaped neck Maple neck to an Alder body, an Ebony fingerboard featuring a 350mm radius, and a 25.5″ scale length. Stainless Steel frets, a Solar Red inlay at the 12th fret, and Luminlay side markers complete the package

One of the headline features of the T1.61FR Assassin is its Gotoh GE1996T tremolo system, a premium double-locking design that Solar says has been selected for its reliability and tonal performance.

The bridge incorporates a substantial brass sustain block measuring 12mm thick and 33mm long, a specification intended to increase both resonance and sustain. Solar has also mechanically muted the tremolo springs to reduce unwanted noise. The system works alongside Solar locking tuners and a locking nut to maximize tuning stability during aggressive tremolo use.

And finally, there’s the sole Seymour Duncan Nazgul Trembucker. Known for its tight low-end response, articulate attack and cutting midrange voice, the Nazgul has become a popular choice among players operating in heavily saturated gain environments.

Solar also notes that due to the nature of the satin matte Carbon Black finish, subtle visual variations may appear depending on lighting conditions and viewing angles. These characteristics are considered part of the finish’s intended appearance rather than manufacturing defects.

Pre-order the Solar Guitars T1.61FR Assassin here for $1,299 prior to its July 20 release.
