The Halcyon Gold Overdrive features Origin Effects‘ proprietary Adaptive Circuitry, meaning that the pedal reacts to your picking style and overall volume. Origin Effects has also made it pretty well-known that they’re trying to get as close to the Klon as possible, saying that while it’s “inspired by a certain rare and sought-after pedal, this is by no means a clone. We have gone to great lengths to recreate the exact characteristics of unobtainable vintage diodes and also built in some innovative features that go beyond the capabilities of the original.”
Where the Halcyon Gold Overdrive differs is its responsive mid-bump, smoother and more neutral voicing, and an adjustable Dry control. You can get one here for $309.
