Nerd Alert: I Want This Fender x Pac-Man Guitar

Listen. Fender just introduced their new Fender Player II Telecaster PAC-MAN Edition and I want it. I also want a Pac-Man arcade game, but Fender didn’t think to bundle those two together. So now I’ve gotta go shopping twice. Thanks.

Visually, the Fender Player II Telecaster PAC-MAN Edition totally commits completely to the concept. The Alder body features a bold PAC-MAN game graphic splashed across the front, instantly recognizable even from across a room, while the classic PAC-MAN logo appears on the back as a finishing touch.

But importantly, Fender hasn’t treated this as a novelty instrument designed purely for display. Underneath the graphics sits a fully modernized Player II Telecaster platform built to perform like a serious working guitar.

The neck features Fender’s modern “C” profile, one of the company’s most comfortable and widely accessible shapes. Combined with a 9.5″-radius Rosewood fingerboard, rolled edges, and 22 medium jumbo frets, the playing experience feels contemporary, smooth, and immediately familiar to most players.

Tonally, the PAC-MAN Tele sticks closely to classic Fender territory. A pair of Player Series Alnico V single-coil Tele pickups deliver the sharp attack, crystalline highs, and tight low-end response that have defined the Telecaster sound for generations. The bridge pickup retains the signature bite and articulation Telecasters are famous for, while the neck pickup offers warmer, rounder textures suitable for cleaner passages and melodic work.

The traditional three-way blade switch keeps operation straightforward and familiar, while the six-saddle string-through-body bridge with block steel saddles improves intonation precision compared to older vintage-style Tele designs. ClassicGear tuners round out the hardware package, balancing retro aesthetics with solid tuning stability.
