GIBSON Teams Up With Jerry Cantrell for “Wino” Les Paul Custom

Gibson has teamed up with Alice In Chains guitarist (and acclaimed solo artist) Jerry Cantrell for a brand new, vintage guitar. The guitar in question is a Murphy Lab-aged replica of Cantrell’s “Wino” Les Paul Custom in a classic Wine Red finish/

The Wino features a nine-hole weight-relieved Mahogany Body with a Plain Maple Top, aged gold hardware, and both 490R and 498T pickups alongside a Fishman Powerbridge piezo pickup-equipped bridge. The pickups are controlled by two volume knobs for each magnetic pickup, as well as a third volume knob where the bridge tone control would normally be for the Powerbridge piezo pickup. The fourth knob is for master tone control, and the pickup selector is the same as you’d expect from pretty much any Les Paul.

The Wino comes with a Jerry Cantrell Custom Case and is limited to 100 hand-signed units. The guitar is going for $8,999 here, and you can also check out Cantrell’s latest appearance in Gibson’s Icon series below.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Murphy Lab aging, Gibson described it as such.

“Using the most sophisticated tools and technology, master artisan Tom Murphy and his team create each Murphy Lab guitar inside our Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville, Tennessee,” said the company in a statement. “Each instrument is a unique, handcrafted work of art, with the character, vibe, and feel of an original vintage guitar.”
