When you’re on a cruise like the Axes & Anchors cruise, there’s always some kind of activity you can be doing – shows, clinics, fine dining, buying jewelry (why is there a jewelry store on this boat?) – but it’s still possible to get bored while on board.
My friend Kyle Karich from Wired Guitarist and I encountered such boredom after a nice day on the beach in Nassau, Bahamas, where we searched for some big floppy hats to keep the sun off our faces, so we wrote a song about it. And then filmed a music video. And then put the music video on the internet. There were many times we could have stopped to think about what a dumb idea this was, but we burned past every checkpoint, because when you’re on fire, you burn so bright you can’t see the warning signs.
