Find of the Week – 1915 Gibson Mandolin Harp Guitar – $14,000

So many strings, so little time. The instrument in this Find of the Week isn’t sure what it wants to be, but I’m sure that I want to play it. Somewhere in San Bernardino it waits for you to buy it, but it’s no stranger to waiting. It’s almost a hundred years old, and it’s owner is asking a hefty price tag, so it knows it will wait. Is it waiting for you?

Here’s the blurb from the seller:

This is a excellent Vintage 1915 Gibson Style U Mandolin Harp Guitar in great condition especially considering its almost 100 years old. There is wear on the instrument including nicks and scuffs but overall good condition which can be seen in the pictures. It comes with the original Hard Case and the serial number is 24963 which dates this as being from 1915. It has 6 strings on the guitar side and 10 bass strings. It has a red mahogany finish and has 50’s Gibson tuners on the guitar neck.

As Editor-in-Chief of Gear Gods, I've been feeding your sick instrument fetishism and trying unsuccessfully to hide my own since 2013. I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.
