ANGEL VIVALDI Demos The Mesa/Boogie JP-2C John Petrucci Signature Amp

Angel Vivaldi is the epitome of a genre whose portmanteau I hope to someday be credited with in the annals of history – shredjent. It’s not just a cool word I made up – it’s a sound combining the best parts of two styles that I enjoy into one tasty package. Syncopated monster riffs combined with tastefully crafted lead parts that often break into speedy shred runs, and a compositional style a bit more akin to Steve Vai is a sound that I can get behind.

Angel took some time out to shoot this video demo for the JP-2C amp from Mesa Boogie, which is the new signature amp for Dream Theater’s John Petrucci (who you may remember from his guest appearance on our YouTube channel). He makes it sing, and now I want one!

As Editor-in-Chief of Gear Gods, I've been feeding your sick instrument fetishism and trying unsuccessfully to hide my own since 2013. I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.
