Toontrack is here to give you all the funk you could ever need with three new MIDI packs – one each for drums, EZkeys and EZbass.
First up is Modern Funk Grooves, which is modeled after everything funky from Jamiroquai and Vulfpeck, to the early 1970s funk forerunner drummers that are still sampled in modern music today. Modern Funk Grooves features drum grooves and fills inspired by modern funk and other related genres as performed by Darby Todd, and are all organized in convenient song parts like intro, verse, pre-chorus, chorus and fills.
Then there’s the Modern Funk EZbass MIDI, which of course covers everything from slapping, popping, double-stops, triple-stops, picking, tapping and beyond. The Modern Funk EZbass MIDI pack concentrates on funk of the past few decades and was entirely created by session player Laurence Cottle. Much like the drum MIDI pack, the Modern Funk EZbass MIDI pack are all organized into intro, verse, pre-chorus, chorus and fill segments.
Then finally there’s the backbone of funk, the Modern Funk EZkeys MIDI. This MIDI pack was influenced by the origins of funk but firmly has its foothold in today, and was performed by professional session players. You already know the deal with how the keyboard bits are organized too.
