Danelectro is ready to take you way lower thanks to their new Dan O Cool Baritone.
The Dan O Cool immediately stands out with its double-cut Shorthorn silhouette. Built around a semi-hollow Spruce body capped with Hardboard, the guitar retains the lightweight feel and resonant character that have defined Danelectro instruments for decades.
Period-correct appointments reinforce the generally vintage vibe throughout. The oversized bell-shaped headstock recalls the company’s earliest solidbody models, while Tolex-covered sides, an Aluminum nut, a Rosewood-saddled bridge, chrome sealed tuners with flat-skate keys, and the rare U3 pickguard all contribute to that look.

No Danelectro would be complete without lipstick pickups, and the Dan O Cool updates the iconic formula with a welcome boost in output.
The dual lipstick single-coils retain the airy sparkle, crisp attack, and unmistakable chime that have made them favorites among players for generations, but they’re voiced for greater versatility. The neck pickup features approximately 20 percent more output, while the bridge receives an even hotter 30 percent increase, providing extra punch without sacrificing the signature Danelectro clarity.
Designed as a true baritone, the Dan O Cool offers the extended scale length required for lower tunings while maintaining a familiar playing experience.
Its Maple neck features a comfortable C-shaped profile that feels immediately approachable, while the Rosewood fingerboard pairs a 14″ radius with 21 frets to encourage smooth bends and effortless movement across the neck.
