PRS Announces 8 String Private Stock Guitar of the Month

PRS Guitars has announced their Private Stock Guitar of the Month for August, and it’s a doozy. Not the very first 8 string they’ve ever made (I think the first was the one for Mark Holcomb for the current Periphery tour), but possibly the first that’s not a one-off. This one will be limited to 8 pieces, so good luck getting your hands on one. The scale length is also 26.5″, which in my opinion is pretty short for an 8 string. I’ve played ones that were 27″ that were okay, but that seems like it might be a bit of a flop machine.

Lucky for PRS, I’ll probably never get close enough to one to find out (I can’t even seem to find one for sale to see how much they cost). So instead, here’s a list of the specs and some pictures for your eyeballs:

As Editor-in-Chief of Gear Gods, I've been feeding your sick instrument fetishism and trying unsuccessfully to hide my own since 2013. I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.
