Positive Grid has released the Spark Pedal, condensing its popular Spark amp platform into a portable floor unit that packs amp modeling, effects, and a full-featured looper into a single stompbox format.
Tone shaping is split across two modes. In Amp Mode, an Amp Type Knob selects between models, paired with Gain, Bass, Mid, and Treble controls for old-school hands-on shaping. In FX Mode, players can dial in Drive, Mod, Delay, and Reverb styles with the corresponding knobs. Three onboard footswitches then handle either Preset Mode, giving instant access to up to six saved tones across two banks, or Looper Mode, which puts full loop control – Record, Overdub, Play, Stop, Undo, and Clear – right at the player’s feet.
The Spark Pedal is fully integrated with the Spark app, unlocking access to 33 amps, 43 effects, and more than 150,000 community-uploaded tones through ToneCloud. The app also includes Spark AI, which allows for prompt-based tone creation, and Smart Jam, a tool for building a virtual backing band to play along with.
On the I/O side, the pedal includes a 1/4″ instrument input compatible with electric guitar, acoustic-electric guitar, or bass, stereo 1/4″ line-level outputs for connecting directly to a PA, and a 1/8″ stereo headphone output for silent practice. MIDI In and Out jacks support remote preset switching and synchronization, a 1/4″ TRS expression pedal input adds hands-free control, and a USB-C port handles charging, firmware updates, and audio interface functionality.
Positive Grid is positioning the Spark Pedal as a rig capable of covering practice, stage, and studio use from a single portable unit – a full amp-and-effects setup that folds down to pedalboard size.
