Berlin-based powerhouse Native Instruments has officially rolled out Komplete 26, and it’s pretty much a full-scale expansion of what a modern production toolkit can be.
At the core sits Kontakt 8, the latest evolution of NI’s flagship sampler, now enhanced with smarter composition tools and expressive Aftertouch support that brings new life to any MIDI controller. Around it, a sprawling collection of synths and instruments covers every corner of sound design: Massive X handles cutting-edge synthesis, FM8 delivers classic digital textures, while the return of Absynth 6 injects evolving, cinematic soundscapes back into the fold. Add in Playbox, Battery 4, and Guitar Rig 7 Pro, and you’ve got plenty of tonal choices.
New additions round out Komplete 26’s appeal as both a creative playground and a serious production weapon. The Definitive Electric Keys Collection digs up rare vintage tones, while LCO Producer Strings – recorded with the London Contemporary Orchestra – bring modern scoring textures into reach. Moments: Vocal Clouds offers lush, atmospheric vocal layers, and Marco Polo Drums delivers gritty boom-bap kits with some punch.

Beyond instruments, Komplete 26 strengthens its mixing and mastering arsenal through integrated tools from iZotope and Brainworx. Plugins like Ozone 12 Elements, Nectar 4 Elements, and bx_console AMEK 200 ensure your track doesn’t just sound good in isolation. Whether it’s surgical EQ, analog-style compression, or creative destruction via Trash, the suite covers the entire production chain without requiring third-party add-ons.
Seamless hardware integration remains a major selling point, with Native Instruments’ NKS ecosystem extending compatibility across controllers from brands like Arturia, Akai Professional, Novation, and Korg – and of course with NI’s own Kontrol keyboards and Maschine systems.
Available in four tiers ranging from Select to the sprawling Collector’s Edition, Komplete 26 scales from entry-level setups to fully loaded professional studios.
