ESP is continuing to introduce their line of 2024 models, this time with their single-cutaway LTD EC-01 guitars.
The LTD EC-01 offers a Mahogany body, 3-piece Mahogany neck with a thin “U” profile, an Ebony fingerboard, and 22 XJ stainless steel frets. The EC-01 is straightforward in its electronics as well, bringing with it a single ESP-exclusive Seymour Duncan Custom 14 and one single Volume knob.
So in the event you’re not really into fiddling with a ton of options – or your guitarist is just kind of an idiot – this is a great option. Though the push-pull control of the volume knob does switch the Seymour Duncan Custom 14 to a single-coil-style sound, which ESP calls “the most wide-ranging single coil bridge territory we’ve ever offered.”
There’s also the cheaper LTD EC-201 option, which offers a multi-voice Fishman Fluence Modern active humbucker, Mahogany body and neck, Roasted Jatoba fingerboard, and 22 extra-jumbo frets. The LTD EC-201 looks largely the same as the LTD EC-01, so there’s certainly no love lost in the aesthetics department.
The EC-01 is available here for $1,099 in Vintage White, Black, and Olympic Burst; while the EC-201 is available here in See-Thru Black Cherry and Black for $499.
