Korn and Distortion Inc. are back with a second signature pedal and, as of me writing this, they’re still in stock! Which is very unlike the first version, which sold out very quickly.
Enter the Head Signature Pedal – a faithful recreation of the rare modified tube amp and heavily-modded fuzz that powered Korn’s ’94–’96 Indigo Ranch sessions with Ross Robinson. Each pedal has independent sections in one box – one with a Preamp and one that’s all Fuzz – with a phase-aligned sub-octave built for massive walls of sound.
For the most accurate, full-range sound, run the pedal directly into a power amp or console. A clean amp channel works, but the tightest low end and full dynamic range come through when you skip the preamp stage of a regular amp. If you do go through a clean channel, lower the input gain and switch off any bright or treble-enhancing features.
On the pedal, Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch said: “This pedal isn’t ‘inspired by’ — it’s built on the same ingredients that forged the sound. Plug in and feel that electricity.”
