Jackson Drops New 8-String Misha Mansoor Signature Model

The Jackson Pro Plus Misha Mansoor Juggernaut ET8 is exactly what you would expect from a signature model tied to one of modern progressive metal’s most detail-focused players.

Designed alongside Misha Mansoor, this limited-production 8-string is built around tight response, tuning consistency, and all the djent you could ever wanna produce… assuming we’re all still making djent jokes. Are we? I am. Fuck it.

Visually, the ET8 keeps things clean and functional. The Poplar body is lightweight and comfortably contoured, all finished in Nardo Gray for a pretty sleek and modern look.

The neck construction is where much of the instrument’s personality comes through. A caramelized maple neck with graphite reinforcement provides added stability, while the oiled finish keeps the feel fast and natural. Combined with the Ebony fingerboard, offset dot inlays, and Luminlay side markers, the overall playing experience is purpose-built for accuracy and speed.

The ET8’s biggest functional advantage is its EverTune F8 bridge system. For players working in lower tunings or using aggressive picking dynamics, EverTune’s constant-tension design keeps tuning and intonation remarkably stable.

Tonally, the guitar is driven by a pair of Misha’s signature MM1 humbuckers. These pickups are voiced for high-gain articulation and extended-range clarity, delivering tight low-end response without turning muddy under heavy distortion. At the same time, the electronics remain versatile enough to handle cleaner tones and split-coil sounds without feeling one-dimensional.

Controls include a 5-way selector switch alongside push-pull coil splitting, giving the ET8 a wider tonal range than many purely metal-focused guitars. Clean passages, ambient textures, progressive lead work, and heavily layered rhythm tones are all clearly within the instrument’s comfort zone.
