IBANEZ Drops New Tim Henson Signature TOD10N

If you caught the music video for the first Polyphia single “Playing God” earlier this year, then you saw Tim Henson’s extremely strange Ibanez nylon-string acoustic. Which of course prompted the entire guitar playing community to ask “what the fuck is that?”

Now we know! Ibanez has just introduced their brand new Tim Henson signature TOD1ON. The TOD1ON is based on an older Ibanez model called the SC500N, though it’s a far cry from simply a reissue. Instead, the TOD1ON offers a Sitka spruce top, back, and sides, as well as a C-shape Nyatoh neck with Walnut fretboard and 22 frets. The TOD1ON also comes with a Fishman Sonicore pickup and an Ibanez AEQ210TF preamp and onboard tuner.

“[It] kind of looks like a Telecaster,” said Henson. “I wanted to stay somewhat close to the traditional, single cutaway acoustic-looking guitar, while also keeping modern aesthetics. I’ve seen a lot of people trying to say that it’s a Talman. It’s not a Talman. I’ve also seen people say that it’s a solidbody. It’s not a solidbody.”

The TOD10N is available here for $699.
