Gretsch has unveiled the G6136TGQM-59 Limited Edition Quilt Classic Falcon, a new take on its classic Falcon design featuring a highly figured quilt maple body and a striking Forge Glow finish.
Part of Gretsch’s Professional Collection, the six-string hollow-body guitar features a 2.75-inch-deep body with 1959 trestle bracing. Its maple neck has a Standard “U” profile, a 25.5-inch scale length, and an Ebony fingerboard with a 12-inch radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, and Mother of Pearl Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays.
The guitar is equipped with a pair of TV Jones Ray Butts Ful-Fidelity Filter’Tron pickups. Based on Ray Butts’ original designs and notes, the pickups are designed to deliver a tighter bass response and more top-end detail than modern Filter’Tron models. Their unpotted construction also aims to provide a more open, dynamic sound.
Other appointments include a bone nut, Grover Imperial tuners, a Space Control bridge with a pinned Ebony base, and a Bigsby B6GVT vibrato tailpiece. Gold hardware, a gold Plexi pickguard, jeweled G-Arrow control knobs, and a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish complete the look.
The G6136TGQM-59 is available in Forge Glow and comes with a Gretsch G6242L Deluxe Hollow Body hardshell case.
The limited-edition model is priced at $4,399.99. Get it here.
