Ernie Ball Music Man Unveils Ultra-Premium John Petrucci Majesty Models for 2026

Ernie Ball Music Man is continuing to refining John Petrucci’s flagship signature model with the Majesty Premium Select. Expensive? Absolutely, but even visually these things are top of the line.

Available in 6-, 7-, and 8-string configurations, the Premium Select line keeps the Majesty’s futuristic design intact while still serving up Petrucci’s preferred tonewood recipe and expanded feature set.

The foundation of all the Majesty Premium Select models is a neck-through Honduran Mahogany design with Alder body wings and a thick Maple top. That combination gives the Majesty a focused, articulate response with strong sustain and enough low-end weight for modern progressive metal.

The 6- and 7-string models use a 25.5″ scale length, while the 8-string version moves to a multi-scale layout with a 27″ bass side for tighter low-string response (and non-floppy low strings).

Across the lineup, the Majesty Premium Select feature Ebony fingerboards, 24 stainless-steel medium jumbo frets, glow-in-the-dark side dots, and Schaller locking tuners. The ergonomic body contours and sculpted neck joint remain central to the Majesty design, giving players unrestricted upper-fret access and a lightweight feel despite the premium construction.

Electronically, the Majesty Premium Select is loaded with DiMarzio Rainmaker and Dreamcatcher humbuckers voiced specifically for Petrucci’s modern prog tones. The onboard system goes beyond a standard dual-humbucker setup, though.

Players get a custom active preamp with a 20dB gain boost, coil-splitting options, magnetic and piezo pickup blending, mono or stereo operation, and dedicated switching for piezo and magnetic outputs. The result is a guitar capable of covering tight high-gain rhythm tones, fluid lead sounds, and convincing acoustic-style textures. Pretty much everything you’d expect from a Petrucci model at this point.

The bridge setup differs slightly depending on the model. The 6- and 7-string versions use Petrucci’s floating Music Man tremolo with Fishman Powerbridge piezo saddles, while the 8-string uses a custom piezo-equipped hardtail bridge for added tuning stability across the extended range.

Finishes include Purple Nebula II, Strawberry Moon, Mystic Dream, Carnelian Red, and Ka’anapali Dream. The Ernie Ball Music Man Majesty Premium Select is priced at $4,999 for the 6-string, $5,199 for the 7-string, and $5,399 for the 8-string.
