Epiphone has finally introduced their affordable Tony Iommi SG Special and it looks pretty great. The Iommi SG Special is modeled after Iommi’s own modified 1964 Gibson SG that helped the man himself invent heavy metal. The guitar features a two-piece Mahogany body, a one piece Mahogany neck with a rounded profile, and an Indian laurel fretboard with 22 frets. The Epiphone Tony Iommi SG Special also offers a Graph Tech nut, Grover Rotomatic tuners with contemporary style buttons, and chrome-covered Epiphone PRO P-90 pickups that are wired to CTS potentiometers and Orange Drop capacitors.
And perhaps most importantly, the Epiphone Tony Iommi SG Special comes with Iommi’s “Monkey” sticker. Which as we all know is the TRUE source of all his power. Check out a trailer for the guitar below and grab one here for $999.
