The Electro-Harmonix Intelligent Harmony Machine pretty much explains what it is right in its name – it’s a harmonizer and pitch shifter like you’ve not quite heard before. The Intelligent Harmony Machine offers a ton of two- and three-part harmony choices from simple ones like fifths and octaves, to more complex ones like diatonic triads in different inversions and stylistic harmonies (like “Western Swing”).
The Intelligent Harmony Machine offers several modes, depending on what you’re trying to do. They are:
- Intelligent Harmony Mode, which generates diatonic harmonies in a set key based on the single notes you play. Key Selector and #/- switches provide access to all 12 keys.
- Polyphonic Override Mode, where you can play single notes and chords. The IHM’s 11-position Interval Selector switch lets you select the harmony.
- Momentary Mode, where the effect is only active when the footswitch is depressed. Choose from instant shifts or set the time it takes the signal to sweep up and down.
