Back in March, Gojira guitarist Christian Andreu revealed that his love affair with Jackson’s iconic Rhoads shape began after watching Kirk Hammett wield one as a teenager: “It started as love at first sight when I was 15, seeing the legendary Kirk Hammett wield this iconic shape,” Andreu said when the signature model launched earlier this year. “It was the most metal thing I’d ever seen, and I was hooked.”
Now, just months after unveiling his first signature model, Hammett has added the guitar to his own touring arsenal.
Hammett wielded Andreu’s new Jackson Pro Plus Series Signature Christian Andreu Rhoads RR24 EVTN6 during Metallica’s two sold-out performances at London’s London Stadium, where the band concluded its colossal M72 World Tour. Gojira, alongside Knocked Loose, opened both shows.
Following the performances, Andreu shared his excitement on Instagram, posting a photo of Hammett holding the guitar with the caption: “London, you fought fire with fire! Thank you Kirk for using my custom Jackson Rhoads guitar on ‘Seek!'”
