Remember Dave Mustaine’s torrid one-night fling with the San Diego Symphony? Want to remember it ever time you pick up an incredibly expensive guitar? Dave initially had a Dean custom made for the performance, a flying V in shape yet mimicking the finish of a violin. For some reason they named it the StradiVMNT. Obviously the “StradiV” part is short for Stradivarius and also references the body shape. But holy hell, if you have to sequence four letters in an acronym and the first one rhymes with “T” you do not continue on with “MNT” unless you want your product associated with pizza power.
Okay, with that off my shell, let’s look at the actual guitar. The design is your tried and true mahogany body with a flamed maple top, although they got cute and cut in some violin-inspired F-holes (speaking of ill-chosen names for things…). The guitar also features a D-shaped neck with an ebony fretboard, tune-o-matic bridge, and Dave’s signature Seymour Duncan LW-MUST active humbuckers.
How much will this guitar run you? Only $4,000. I know that sounds like a lot, but it’s marked down from an MSRP of $6,000, so it’s actually quite a bargain. And there are only 50 of these special collectors items up for sale. Claim yours today!
