Behringer has unveiled the D Mini, a portable analog synthesizer inspired by one of the most influential compact synth designs of the 1970s.
At the heart of the D Mini is a single voltage-controlled oscillator loaded with five selectable waveforms: Saw, Triangle, Shark, Square and Pulse. The result is a surprisingly broad tonal palette, capable of everything from thick low-end growl to cutting lead sounds.

A resonant lowpass filter handles tone shaping duties, offering plenty of sweep and character for classic analog sounds. Supporting modulation comes courtesy of an onboard LFO with four waveform options, allowing users to dial in vibrato, filter movement and more experimental effects.
The signal path is rounded out by a vintage-style VCA section, complete with Contour controls and a Contour Decay switch for additional envelope shaping. Meanwhile, a dedicated Mixer section includes White and Pink noise options, along with independent noise-level control for adding texture to patches.
Despite its compact design, the D Mini offers multiple ways to create and perform. A set of 27 touch-sensitive keys provides direct access to notes and melodies, while the built-in 16-step sequencer includes eight memory slots for storing patterns and ideas.
Connectivity is equally modern, with USB-C, MIDI and Sync I/O ensuring the D Mini can slot easily into desktop setups, live rigs and larger hardware ecosystems.
For synth players looking to add classic analog character to their setup without committing to a full-size instrument, the D Mini packs a familiar sound and feature set into an impressively compact package.
