If you’re in the production and post-production world of music, then this is big news: iZotope is joining Boris FX.

iZotope, the company behind RX and Ozone; and Boris FX, the team behind Sapphire, Continuum, Mocha Pro; have both posted statements to their website pretty much saying that nothing is going to change and everything is fine.

On that, iZotope VP of Product Todd Baker said he’ll be staying on through the transition while further noting that iZotope users have nothing to worry about: “As this transition happens, I can assure you that our products, licenses, and subscriptions remain fully active.

“Support continues through the same channels, from the same team. There’s no action you need to take. And the engineers behind RX, Ozone, and the rest of the family are still here, still building.”

Boris FX founder and CEO Boris Yamnitsky also noted that his cmpany will not be shifting focus away from their existing products, and that his company has a successful history of acquiring others: “You’ve seen us do this before.

“Over the past decade, we’ve welcomed Imagineer, GenArts, Silhouette, and others into the family. Each time, those tools didn’t just keep going; they got better. iZotope is the next chapter in our story, and certainly one of the most significant.”

Both companies highlighted their shared focus on AI-assisted creative workflows as a key reason behind the merger. While iZotope has become known for intelligent audio processing and restoration technologies, Boris FX has increasingly integrated AI-driven capabilities into its own video and post-production software.

Just one plea from some jackass who makes noise (me) – don’t take away iZotope Trash. I love that plugin.
