sE Electronics has introduced the KLS 150, a new set of professional closed-back headphones designed for everything from studio recording and mixing to live monitoring.
The KLS 150 is built around a custom-engineered 40mm dynamic driver offering a 12Hz to 28kHz frequency response and what sE Electronics describes as a balanced, low-distortion sound with accurate low-end reproduction.
More interesting is the KLS 150’s adjustable Bass Control. A pair of tactile dials hidden underneath removable earcup covers allow users to adjust the low end from -5dB to +5dB. The tactile indicators mean you can even make adjustments without taking the headphones off.
The KLS 150 also uses a dual-shell earcup design with dense leatherette earpads to provide passive isolation while minimizing bleed during recording. The earcups swivel 90 degrees for one-ear monitoring, while the entire design folds down for easier storage and transportation.
As for actually wearing the things for hours on end, sE Electronics has equipped the KLS 150 with an ergonomic headband, memory foam padding, and roomy earpads designed to reduce pressure and fatigue. Glass-fiber reinforced construction and a corrosion-resistant spring-steel core handle durability without adding unnecessary bulk.
The KLS 150 comes with a detachable locking 3.5mm cable, gold-plated 6.35mm adapter, USB-C dongle, and protective drawstring pouch. So whether you’re mixing, tracking, or trying to figure out exactly how much low end is too much low end, the KLS 150 gives you some room to experiment.
