ENGL has introduced the Powercube 200, a compact Class D power amp designed to turn your preamp pedals, modelers, and amp-in-a-box pedals into a complete rig without hauling around a traditional amp head.
The Powercube 200 delivers 200 watts into a minimum 4-ohm load and is designed for a clean, transparent response that leaves the sound of whatever you’re running into it largely untouched. It’ll work with a traditional guitar cabinet, FRFR speaker, or PA system depending on how you’ve built your rig.
There’s still some tone shaping available if you need it. The Powercube 200 features Bass, Middle, and Treble controls alongside Presence for compensating for different cabinets and rooms. The entire EQ section can also be bypassed with a dedicated switch for a flat signal path.
Connections are straightforward, with a standard 1/4-inch input alongside a speaker output and balanced XLR DI output for sending your signal directly to a front-of-house system or recording interface.
ENGL has also included Input and Power Amp Clip LEDs for keeping an eye on your levels and gain staging. A universal internal power supply operates between 100V and 240V AC, making the Powercube 200 suitable for touring internationally without needing a separate voltage converter.
