Polyend has introduced the Loop, an eight-track performance looper combining four audio loop tracks with a four-track sample-based drum machine and sequencer.
Each of the four loop tracks can record up to 60 seconds of mono or stereo audio, with independent Forward, Reverse, and Ping-Pong playback. Timing and pitch can either follow the project’s tempo for varispeed-style effects or operate independently for time-stretched playback.
There’s also a pretty extensive effects section onboard with more than 100 effects covering reverb, delay, modulation, filtering, panning, and other sound-shaping options.
The other half of the Loop is a four-track drum machine with per-step sequencing and control over more than 15 parameters for each step. Polyend includes more than 500 drum kits, 350 rhythms, 2,000 drum samples, and 180 loops from the factory, though you can also record your own samples directly into the pedal and build custom kits.
The Loop can store up to 1,000 projects, while bar-quantized Next and Previous controls allow different projects to be chained together for longer arrangements. Individual loop tracks can also be exported as WAV files for use in a DAW.
Connectivity includes instrument-, line-, and microphone-level inputs, support for two simultaneous mono sources, TRS and USB MIDI synchronization, an expression pedal input, and a microSD slot for loading and saving samples.
So whether you’re building entire songs onstage or just need something significantly more capable than your average looper pedal, Polyend has crammed a pretty ridiculous amount of functionality into the Loop.
