Premiere: SILENT Bring Crushing Caveman-Tones on “Lies Co.”

Justin Pearson (Retox, the Locust) recently turned me on to Silent – a band that are doing some pretty interesting, zonky, heavy stuff. At once bringing to mind the weirdo San Diego punk of the 90’s, while also echoing the melodic drawl of stuff like Type O Negative and Nick Cave.

But what I’m digging so far is the sound of the album, which was recorded by a dude I’d never heard of, Ruben Tomayo (Traum, Static Discos, Rocket Racer). Ruben helped this band achieve probably one of the best bass tones we’ll hear all year! So we’re stoked to premiere the opening track off Silent’s debut, A Century of Abuse, which is out October 28th via Three One G. Check it out below:
