MENDEL: Stream the ABORTED Guitarist’s New Track “Hellbound”, Featuring DANIËL DE JONGH of TEXTURES

Aborted guitarist Mendel bij de Leij is a true jack of all trades. We’ve talked about the dude before, but he just keeps pumping out quality jam after jam. Fusing progressive and neoclassical metal together, Mendel has a history of writing relentless and technical songs that are still well-thought-out and musical. And that sure is the case for this brand new tune called “Hellbound”, which is set to be on his upcoming record Universal Omegai this October. Check it!

The track kicks off with some fast-as-hell sweeps that are accompanied by some searingly hot synths lines. If you’re familiar with guitarists like Jason Richardson, you know just how fast we’re talking. Featuring Textures vocalist Daniël de Jongh, the song is pushed right along by his combination of harsh vocals and melodic singing during the choruses. Definitely nothing short of a match made in Heaven. And there’s really not a lot of subtlety with this track, as our dude Mendel just keeps laying on the riffs, but we’re sure glad that’s the way it is.

To get your Mendel on, you can pre-order Universal Omega through his Bandcamp. The album drops October 26th, 2017, so mark your calendars and ready your ear-holes.
