Guy Belts Out ANGRA’s “Nova Era” on Grade School Recorder, Makes Recorders Not Suck

Wanna hear something played on one of those little shit-pipes that isn’t “Mary Had a Little Lamb”? Phillip Moura, evidently an avid Angra fan and totally rippin’ recorder player, blasted through the Brazilian band‘s 2001 track, “Nova Era.” The dude’s a total beast for somehow managing to demonstrate both musical virtuosity and high levels of bad-assery on a friggin’ recorder. Consider my mind thoroughly blown.

Mr. Moura is the real deal though. Take little browse through his YouTube channel, and you’ll find all sorts of crazy covers. Dream Theater and Nightwish, maybe a little Adele to please the crowd? Bruno Mars more your speed, or are you a video game soundtrack kinda person? Maybe youngsters would take music class a little more seriously if they knew just how sick recorders could be.
