Jackson Announces Sabaton Guitarist Chris Rörland’s First Signature Guitar

Jackson has announced the Pro Series Signature Chris Rörland SL7 Soloist, the company’s first signature guitar developed in collaboration with the Sabaton lead guitarist. The seven-string model is designed around Rörland’s requirements for down-tuned riffs, melodic leads, and reliable performance onstage and in the studio.

The SL7 features a 26.5-inch scale length and neck-through construction with a maple neck, providing additional stability for lower tunings. Its electronics consist of an EMG 81-7H humbucker in the bridge position and an EMG 85-7H in the neck, pairing high-output aggression with a warmer voice for lead work and harmonies.

The guitar also comes equipped with a recessed Floyd Rose 1000 Series seven-string tremolo system, designed to maintain tuning stability during demanding performances. A Satin Black finish completes the look.

Rörland said the design incorporates several personal preferences, including moving the volume knob out of the way and positioning the pickup selector so he can switch pickups with his middle finger while soloing. The extended scale length was another deliberate choice to improve stability with his preferred lower tunings.

“I wanted to build a real beast — effortless to play, stays in tune and built for the stage,” Rörland said.

Rörland joined Sabaton in 2012 and has spent more than a decade recording and touring with the Swedish metal band. Jackson says the SL7 was developed to reflect his playing style while giving other modern metal guitarists a platform for their own approach.
