…and that conductor cares about just one thing: the band must play the most massive riffs imaginable.

So goes the story of Empress AD, the band cursed to forever haunt the caverns in the depths of the earth, sending out riff after riff towards the surface, to shake the cities and mountains. The track “Invisible Conductor” is the sad autobiography of their doomed march towards the infinite loop of time. They’ve titled their new record, which releases today, Still Life Moving Fast, more as a hope and a prayer- deluding themselves into believing that their existence will consist of more than just crushing the word around them with loud, distorted guitars.

Those wishing to share in the band’s toil can do so by picking up the physical release here, or the digital album on iTunes.

Chris Alfano has written about music and toured in bands since print magazines and mp3.com were popular. Once in high-school he hacked a friend's QBasic stick figure fighting game to add a chiptune metal soundtrack. Random attractive people still give him high-fives about that.
