With the release of their newest record Phanerozoic I: Palaeozoic just around the corner (November 2nd, to be exact), the boys in The Ocean have been hard at work preparing to unleash the first part of what will eventually be a double album. With so much new and conceptual material waiting to be heard, they’ve just put out the first in a series of studio vlogs which detailed the recording process of the record!

This first episode takes us all the way to Iceland where the record was tracked at Sundlaugin studios (AKA, the abandoned swimming pool owned by post-rock band Sigur Rós). In this first edition, drummer Paul Seidel crushes it behind the kit, and he and guitarist Robin Staps discuss the writing and recording process for the record.

Be sure to pre-order Phanerozoic I: Palaeozoic here.
