RIGGED – The Contortionist

The Contortionist is one of the most underrated bands on the scene today, employing vast textures and soundscapes into the metal architecture of their compositions. I met up with them on their current tour with Monuments, Entheos, and Sleepmakeswaves to go over the gear they use to make those songs come to life.

I became a contortionist filming this one – shooting a rig piece at Chain Reaction in Anaheim is not the most spacious of affairs, so a great deal of kneeling, stretching, bending and reaching was required. These things, I do for you, dear reader, so watch this shit so I can buy some Ibuprofen!

As Editor-in-Chief of Gear Gods, I've been feeding your sick instrument fetishism and trying unsuccessfully to hide my own since 2013. I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.
