RIGGED – Motionless in White

Scranton, Pennsylvania’s Motionless in White are a rather divisive band. The problem is, it’s not so much the music that’s divisive – it’s their look. Any kind of extreme image can be disturbing to the uninitiated – there’s a sense of “otherness” involved, like the members of the group are somehow segregated from the rest of humanity, isolated. This can lead to some people dismissing them outright, with no further evidence than a shallow glance has given them.

And then, there’s the chance to meet guys like this, face to face, and spend a little time in their world. Instantly they are humanized, normal, friendly. They’re like Monsters, Inc. – scary in your closet (or in this case, on stage) but step into their world, they’re just a bunch of teddy bears.

We had a blast hanging out with the guys backstage on the Summer’s Last Stand tour with Slipknot, Lamb of God, and Bullet For My Valentine, and going through all the cool gear they used on the tour.

As Editor-in-Chief of Gear Gods, I've been feeding your sick instrument fetishism and trying unsuccessfully to hide my own since 2013. I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.
