German mathcore and experimental band The Hirsch Effekt have been blowing minds and ears for years now, and they’ve just released this playthrough of drummer Moritz Schmidt positively tearing up the kit for the song “Xenophotopia” off their 2017 album Eskapist. Check it!

Recorded at Harbour Inn Studios Bremen, Schmidt fills this tune with numerous twists and turns reminiscent of bands like The Dillinger Escape Plan and Converge. It’s energetic, punchy, and contains a multitude of goodies for anyone listening close enough.

For all you drummers out there, you can get the drum notation for this song here. Be sure to check here for tour dates, tickets, and merch, and follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
