OBSCURA Drummer Sebastian Lanser is So Goddamn Clean

As often as I’m bored by technicality/straight chops, every once in a while I find a player whose style cuts through (aka, someone who doesn’t let their chops choke their own creativity). And man, Obscura drummer Sebastian Lanser  is one of those guys. Sebastian joined the band a couple years back, but made his recorded debut with them on this past February’s Akroasis.

The band are dropping playthrough videos like flies, but check out Seb’s rundown of the track “Ten Sepiroth.” Despite some pretty punishing tempos and parts, he’s super graceful around the kit. I’d love to hear a drum lesson in breathing exercises from him, because it looks like the dude barely breaks a sweat!
