Metalocalypse’s Brendon Small Inaugurates the “Shredthrough”

Really not sure why it took so long for someone to come up with that catchphrase…

A few weeks back I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Brendon Small, cartoonist, comedian, guitarist, bandleader, etc. extraordinaire, aka the creator of Metalocalypse and Home Movies. It was really a treat – super nice guy, full of stories about Mick Jagger and Malcolm McDowell. I had to pretend that I’d seen Seinfeld and more than a few episodes of Metalocalypse, but I needed my own version of one of my favorite party stories, in which the author David Means and Steve Buscemi had an hour long conversation about Wittgenstein before admitting that neither of them had ever read Wittgenstein.

I’ll catch up on Metalocalypse, though. Seen Dethklok live and what can you say, Brendon’s great. Really hope that the show comes together for him on a new network, it’d be nice to see that project completed. In the meantime, he’s pumping the press iron, this time for Guitar World, with a shredthrough of Skwisgaar’s parts in “The Duel.” Check it out:
