Devildriver’s “Ruthless” Drum Playthrough Is Accurate, Contains No Discernible Ruths

And to end the week, we have this drum playthrough that Meinl uploaded, featuring Devildriver drum driver John Boecklin. It features the band’s song “Ruthless,” and to the best of my knowledge, there’s no one named Ruth in the video. Certainly no one in the band bears that name. I haven’t positively identified every member of the audience, but considering that metal crowds tend to skew male, and that Ruth isn’t the most common name in Devildriver’s younger than 30 age demographic (there are 800,000 Ruths in the United States, out of a third of a billion, but they tend to be the older population), I think we should be safe.

Chris Alfano has written about music and toured in bands since print magazines and mp3.com were popular. Once in high-school he hacked a friend's QBasic stick figure fighting game to add a chiptune metal soundtrack. Random attractive people still give him high-fives about that.
