Ibanez Tube Screamer TS808 35th Anniversary Reissue

Ibanez may make some of my favorite pointy guitars, but they might be most famous for their little green box o’ magic that has graced the pedalboards of many a guitar icon (many of whom would never play the aforementioned pointy axes). The TS808 Tube Screamer has been cloned infinity billion times, researched, torn apart, improved upon, “improved upon”, ruined, studied, and worshipped since it’s initial run in 1979.

Well, now the company is reissuing the pedal, and according to them it is faithful to the original in every way. Well gentlemen, you had my curiosity, but now you have my attention. I’d be really quite intrigued to see A. if that is true and B. if so, how it stacks up against the original. Of course, the original would have had 35 years to age, so just because it is made the same with the same parts doesn’t mean it will sound identical, but nonetheless, I’m on the edge of my seat.
