NAMM Preview: Alex Skolnick Testifys About the Legacy of His Signature ESP Guitar

I guess all of the new signature models are coming out of the woodwork this week. Testament’s Alex Skolnick (also of the phenomenal Alex Skolnick Trio, for those of you who don’t need to be all metal all the time) just partnered with ESP to bring you the new ESP Alex Skolnick signature guitar, and its more affordable LTD counterpart, the AS-1.

It features an Eclipse single-cutaway mahogany body at 24.75” scale, a rosewood fingerboard, Grover tuners, TonePros locking TOM bridge with stop tailpiece, and some new Seymour Duncan pickups that are also being custom made for Alex. According to the video, the specs on his signature pickups are still being hammered out.

Chris Alfano has written about music and toured in bands since print magazines and mp3.com were popular. Once in high-school he hacked a friend's QBasic stick figure fighting game to add a chiptune metal soundtrack. Random attractive people still give him high-fives about that.
