NAMM 2015 – PEAVEY’s New Bass Cabs for Metal

You know the classic scene in This is Spinal Tap, where Christopher Guest tells Rob Reiner that his amps go to 11?

I can’t help but feel that the engineers at Peavey have been thinking of that movie as of late. When their bass amp electronics team got in a room to talk about how they could design bass cabs for working metal bass players, they really outdid themselves. Cut to brass tax: in this day and age of endless choices, options, amp models, logos, shapes, and stickers, what is it that the real, day-in-day-out bass player needs?

They need an amp that stays tight when you tune to drop Z. So that’s what Peavey did with their PVH amps. These go to drop Z.
