NAMM 2015 – Empress Effects Buffer+ Stereo

It might seem as though the new buffer pedal from Empress Effects isn’t much to get excited about. Because a buffer is hardly the most exciting thing in your pedalboard.

But it’s not so much about what it does as what it allows you to do. With two pad-equipped inputs and two outputs (ABY), a buffered stereo effects loop, and noise filtering, you can have multiple guitars plugged into multiple amps and multiple effects simultaneously, and the possibilities are nigh on endless at that point. It’s the key to the kingdom of your rig, and the gilded gate through which your signal passes on it’s way to the mountains of Ampliphia through the valley of Distortia and Delay-ia.

How’s that for exciting?

They’ve also unveiled their first 500 series doohickey, a very cool looking compressor.

I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.
